The Washington, D.C.-based aesthetician is the beauty brand’s skin care expert and ambassador.
Sarah Akram, the Washington, D.C.-based aesthetician has been appointed the brand’s skin care expert and ambassador.
Akram will be helping create Dior spa protocols, working on spa activations and will be the first aesthetician in the U.S. to offer Dior treatments permanently. “My whole approach to skin care is that I believe in an all-natural approach. That’s always been my philosophy,” Akram said. “That’s Dior’s philosophy as well, and I’ve always preached mantras of consistency and less-is-more.”
She now has her own spa in Alexandria, Va., and will be incorporating Dior treatments into her clinic. “I’ve done over 50,000 facials. Earlier I was more in the medical aesthetics lane, and the treatments were invasive and a bit more aggressive — that’s what piqued my curiosity of exploring other avenues,” Akram said.
The appointment comes as Dior Beauty’s fragrance and makeup businesses boom. The brand has seen major success with the Sauvage men’s fragrance and its viral Lip Glow Oil. Akram is aiming at amplifying skin care next.
“I believe Dior skin care is the best-kept secret; I don’t think the U.S. market fully appreciates or understands how much science, research and development, love and energy has been poured into its development,” Akram said. “My goal is to bring an awareness that is to educate the consumer on how incredible and advanced these products are. These are some of the most unique, exclusive products you’re going to find on the market.”
